Digicom Awarded Grant from Quebec Government to Provide Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) to 4033 homes

Grant will transform Digicom from a Wireless Internet Pioneer to a leader in FTTH in Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean.
Digicom Inc. (Digicom) of Alma, Quebec is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a grant by the Quebec Government’s Secretariat for High-Speed Internet and Special Connectivity Projects, Ministry of the Executive Council, to provide Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) to 4033 homes.

The grant will enable Digicom to build a 722 km fibre backhaul FTTH network, to enable high-speed
broadband providing a minimum speed of 50 Mbps/10 Mbps to 4,033 households in 29 different communities in the province of Quebec, located in the municipalities of: Lac-Saint-Jean-Est; Le Domaine-du-Roy; Le Fjord-du-Saguenay; Maria-Chapdelaine and Saguenay. The project completion date is September 30, 2022.
